Jan Joubert Koppie and it's never ending views usually leaves guests breathless.
During this time of the afternoon, there is a light western wind pushing in from the coast.
This obviously brings about the necessity to enjoy a Jagermeister, OBS, Kleine Keller or any good equivalent.
We had great times on this koppie, and so will anyone that ever get the opportunity to visit this magical land.

Thanks for a very nice RR Canzius, every evening the highlight of my day to drool over the pics and read every word. The memories come flooding back.
I remember that thick sand around Purros, you have to be awake! Did you guys get stormed by a vicious dog while riding past the shacks? He nearly took Xpat off his bike!

The 3 Stooges also arrived a bit later..... after swimming together naked....... Look, it's been a long trip, not judging....

This is a great pic...One of my favourites of the trip.

Now I am not supersticious about taking an extra beer on occasion and I like a drop of wine in the evening, but those that know me know that I have little time for those on a drinking safari and personally don`t really drink during the day (evening round a fire is clearly different..)...BUT , Manchester United tavern on that morning after a lekker mellow ride up Purros Canyon and a swim...man, that was a memorable beer:... good mates, Himba piss and upturned beer crates with a cold Tafel Lager and Trevor`s jokes. Great memories.

Yes he was there.... On day two I was ready for him and actually got quite good at roosting him a bit..... :ricky:

To give guys an idea on the meals we were served, I think this night we had T-bone, roasted potatos and salad i think there was even desert. In the morning we got a full breakfast with a few variations. Most days we got a snack pack for lunch with dried fruit, nuts, biltong and cheese and a few other variations. Perfect for maintaining energy through the day

The descent after the steps was tricky- off-camber and loads of loose rocks

Considering the whole van zyls pass, this is probably the part that I struggled the most with when we went through there.  I put my bike down more than once on that descent with the loose rocks and I was completely drained when we finally got to the bottom.

It was really challenging and I think mostly a bit of a surprise. Somehow thought that once you go down the step you’re done with Van Zyl’s........[emoji849][emoji849]
