DAY 8  - PUROS TO PALMWAG



Today would be a fairly easy ride on open roads with a total distance of 280km. I could already taste the Captain Morgan at the Palmwag bar was looking forward to arriving early and spending some time next to the pool. After breakfast we head out on  a ("you guessed it" ) spectacular ride through Gribbies Plains.

Stunning report Noneking. Kaokoland is high on my list of places to ride.

Looking at this pic, I can't help thinking back and remembering how this type of sandy track would send me into fits of fear when I started out 5 or 6 years ago. Riding through it would result in what I can only imagine as a comical serious of zigzag moves and more than just a little paddling with my feet.

50m up the track from where this was taken, there was a patch in the sand where lions had slept and spoor was still fresh on the sandy surface. Only then did I remember Hardy's warning about looking around for cats and elephants before you get off your bike.

This trip would not have been the same without [member=9149]Dwerg[/member] there. Real shame that the "oorstoot drie in ekstra tyd" [member=24549]MonkeyNot[/member] couldn't join us.

Laat weet as jy post, watter fred is dit?

Nog iets, dink jy 'n NC700 sal die trip kan maak, hy is bietjie laag? My vrou ry een sal graag saam wil gaan op so iets maar sy is 'n kort gat en kan dus nie iets hoër ry nie.
