Like jou fiets se kleur ook.
Baie Dankie,

"for that I would needed an additional 2 to 3 days, one whole day would have been necessitated purely for recovery."

Jy kan bly wees. ;)

Ons oudste Girl is in Kappastatta, ek het die dag wat sy aangestel is sommer al my gap gevat....wil v haar gaan kuier die Jaar, met bike, en stuur bike terug (of andersom).
Op EN af is net te lank.
Maar ja....Vaderlike Pligte

Awesome report . That tankwa is a very unique and special place .
I swear I saw you in Hout Bay when you collected the bike. Noticed you driving up and down the road before chapmans peak testing it. Or it was same bike colour as yours but I'm pretty sure it was you.

Porcupine mating 🤣

Hi Stevie,

If you were on a vespa, I do recall seeing you in Hout bay. (y)

Calculated decision making, nothing wrong with that.

Haha, thanks. I must say, I did enjoy the Puig screen a lot. lowest for the slower bits, and all the way up on the faster bits.
I did manage to lose the LHS bolt and knob ( descriptive of me for losing it) Currently a cable tie does the job of securing it. I will look into replacement parts, or just maak ‘n plan.
Ouch, that's not cool. I was worried it may happen one day, and I'm not sure what the solution would be - can't really use Loctite either.

Very lekka travelogue, thanks.

I like your unpretentious, yet heartfelt enthusiasm for everything that being out there on a bike invites...

I have ended up in the Tankwa 2 weekends in a row now.

2 Weekends back leaving Oasis direction Opiberg we took a left and went over Katbakkies then down the Tankwa towards Ceres, then home via Bainskloof. This trip was with my son.

Bainskloof is super smooth tar, if I was close by I would be tearing it up every weekend.... (y)

Then this past weekend with my brother we went full Physico mode and completed an epic challenging route which saw us riding a full 18hr day. Leaving the winelands area at 05:00 we rode through DuToitskloof to Ceres then at the bottom of the Tankwa took a right to Sutherland, filled up in Sutherland then drove to Ouberg pass. Down Ouberg and accross the Nothern end of the Tankwa to Die Boss. From Die Boss towards Uitspankraal where we crossed the Doringriver which took a lot longer than what we bargained on. By the time we got dressed again and rode away on the South side of the river sunset was about 40min away and we still needed to get through the Biedouw valley then Wupperthal followed by Eselbank and finally the Matjiesrivier valley before stopping at Cederberg Oasis for a meal and some sleep.

We ended up riding most of the Biedouw valley just after sunset and Wupperthal - Esselbank and the Matjiesrivier valley in complete darkness before we finally arrived at Oasis. We were completely broken by that time but very very happy with what we had conquered.

Well if there is any piece of tar road that can be classified as nice then I agree with you Bains is nice. They re-surfaced it about a 18months back so its prime. But Ya its still tar :(
