The news was not great about what was happening up north , so I decided to go across Mozambique into Zim and into Botswana . George as a Greek
had all sorts of visa complications , so he decided to carry on up to Maliwe . This meant I would miss Maliwe which was a great pity .
I said cheers to George and hit the road , I was going to go south and turn right at Macia and head north west into Zim at Sango just above the Kruger . Filled up the day before so I could get an early start .

Filling up @ Torfu the day before I left .

I left at 5 in the morning headed town to Macia and then turned right to Chokwe . The road was a nightmare , there were more pot holes than tar , so you spent your time dodging busses and cars . The pot holes became construction of roads and it got worse . When ever I stopped and asked people about the road further on they said no problem , to make matters worse it was wet with the odd shower . I was gat foll . All of a sudden I came onto a new tar road and I rode at a steady 140 for about 100 km  then back onto wet road construction . While on the tar I was still wondering why no oncoming traffic . The road was getting worse and I was coming  onto the odd heavy truck that was either stuck or jackknifed . The last truck I saw had been stuck for ten days and the vegetables on the truck were rotting . I was so stressed I forgot to take photos . I then met a guy in a 4x4 Fortuner and he said I should turn back as he could not  get through the swollen rivers . I had done 400 km and I had to turn around .

Nearly saw my Ring without a mirror

Where you see the water , that is actually the road.

I rode back the way I came , and decided to go back to Nelspruit via Maputo and then into Botswana from there . And I needed to buy a map , I was just running on GPS . I headed down towards Maputo and booked into The Blue Anker about 40km north of Maputo . I was Stukkend , I spent about 800km in the saddle and I had moved about 250km down the coast  . had a few beers and steak and bed .

Next morning I left and headed through Maputo morning traffic .....chaos , It took me two hours to get through to the open road again . I cleared the boarder and got to Nelspruit and moved into Bundu lodge . I needed my bike to have an oil change and I needed to chill for a while . BMW Nelspruit sorted the bike out and checked it out , all was well .
