Ag toggie... bike seems to have a fuel issue at highway speeds... Coming back from Wolmaransstad was no fun. Hope I can sort/find the issue before the bash...

Should be able to sort that out in a week. Not lekker having a niggle before a big trip.

Seem I have some H2O in my fuel. Drain tank and start fresh...
Float level checks out fine.

As tank was off I decided to pull the carb and give it a full once over... And bingo... One of the blanked off vacuum lines had split. This would explain why Shrek was running bad. Water and vacuum would cause fuel starvation symtoms. Carb itself is pretty clean. Gave it a good cleanup with carb cleaner. Re assembled and blanked off the vacuum line nozzles with self tappers and some silicon sealer. Pics tomorrow.

Vacuum lines sealed... Carb goes back later today.

However this is what is in the petrol drained from the tank! This is sample and the other 11 odd liters in the jerrycan wil have to be systematicaly shiponed off after decanting into suitable containers so as to not get the water back in the tank.

Bike re assembled and it starts 100%, no sign of misses or hesitation. Time to take it for a run...

Bike runs sweet again... Tomorrow is oil service and wheel swap.

Oil seal is leaking and needs replacement, departure delayed till Tuesday if all goes well. Route planning re done to get me to Growcery Store on time.

Wel got wheels swapped. Sprocket hub bearing was a tad worn... But I keep stock of all wheel bearings.

Brakes checked, cleaned and new pads fitted.

Fortunately I’m a N+1 man, so i’m loading up the DR and going on that - leaving with Loewelife later today, camping 4 nights en route.

I am heading out to Prieska Tuesday, Wed I hope to be in Poffadder and Thursday at the bash... bit of a dash due to above water pump delay.
The route back will be over Loeries, Fraserburg, Britstown, Orania and home via @Dorsland's place and home. 10 days if all goes well.
