Ja dit is lekker om ou mense met so veel energie te sien. Ek wil ook nog vol go wees op my ou dag. Chris, kyk of jy daai foto van jou ma kan opsit. Ek wys altyd sulke foto's vir my ou mense as hulle oor nonsens kla.

Chris dit was lekker om jou te ontmoet. Ons moet in die toekoms darem bietjie saam kuier en gesels. Nou ja kyk vir daai foto.

Myself & Pure Orange took a cruise through the Southern parts of Namibia after the bash.
We joined PJ & tour for the first part but they were heading for Sendelingsdrift after stealth camping; we were heading for
Ai-Ais.

We took an unmarked road towards the river at a certain point and arrived at a locked and gaurded gate.
No problem for tour: He has the gift of negotiation like I have seldom witnessed before.  ;D

My pics are rather boring. Before somebody points it out, let me confess: It's a collection of pics of two 990's in various locations.

It was a very hot day and the Saturday night's excesses was taking it's toll.
Upon reaching the entrance gate at Ai-Ais we simply collapsed in one sorry heap.  :-[

The next morning we headed towards the Fish River Canyon.

The canyon.

Hard to believe that when I was young & fit I had clambered down on the right of the lookout point and back-packed all the way to Ai-Ais.......... ::)    never to be repeated by myself, I promise you that.

We went to Canon Roadhouse for the obligotary beers and to refill the bikes.
It was another VERY hot day.......

Next stop was Grunau. In it's glory days I seem to recall it had a filling station, shops & hotel. now it only has a hotel.  :(

On the positive side, we bought some great beef & Springbok biltong at the hotel.  :)

Whilst on our way to Karasburg Pure Orange pointed out a massive dust devil several kilometers away to our right.
It was huge. It seemed the top of it spiralled all the way into the clouds.
Usually they don't last long. After watching it for easily two minutes I decided to stop & take a photo: Murphy's law, it subsided and I only caught the last of it.

I had to apply some severe Photoshopping to make it visible:

We left Namibia via Ariamsvlei and did some low-flying towards Upington.
Booked a chalet at Oranjerus  :thumleft: In this RR I see some dogs were there on the way to the bash.

We had one left-over beer each from the previous evening. They were still cold from sleeping in the fridge so we made a pitstop to enjoy some beer & biltong.

As we were travelling the wind steadily picked up. Eventually it was blowing gale force diagonally from the front.  ::)
It became very cold and overcast. In Calvinia we donned our rain jackets.

We were heading for P.O.'s house at Misverstand dam.
It started to rain heavily at Klawer; by Citrusdal darkness set in. Piekeniers Kloof Pass was a matter of roadworks, darkness & rain.

It rained heavily overnight and the gravel road from the dam to the N7 was tricky! Made it without mishap though.

From there it was a matter of slabbing it home on the N7; the rain stopped near Malmesbury.

I had done about 2700 km since leaving home.

A WD left his neck brace/cushion at the Nieuwoudtville Hotel.  I brought it to Cape Town, as apparently its owner hails from here.  PM me if you'd like it back, otherwise I rather fancy it!
