[member=8559]trevo[/member] and [member=12174]JannievandieVaaldam[/member] arrived where [member=9149]Dwerg[/member]  was taking a rest and we decided to go to the lodge for a beer.
Dwerg was overjoyed with the decision

We jumped onto the free Wifi and had more draught than I care to remember. A couple of hours later, the others had still not arrived. The sun was starting to set and we were getting worried that they might have gone directly to camp.

As we left the lodge, [member=4383]P.K.[/member] , Shane and Hennie arrived with now sign of sweepers or crew.

1km from camp, I ran out of fuel. Hannes had to race after Dwerg, who was now rejuvenated, to get a container to transfer fuel from his 690.

Min dinge so lekker soos n yskoue bier of twee na n lang en warm stofpad! ..

Hardy, Steff, Janco and the rest of the crew arrived after dark. I was dead tired that evening. I don't remeber much, just that we had lekker smoked ribs  ::). Had a shower, got in bed and slept like a baby. The next day was going to arguably be the best and most demanding ride of the trip and I could feel the excitement building ...

We met a Swiz guy at Twyfelfontein lodge. He rode his DRZ400 from his home country all the way there. He joined our camp site later and most of the evening was spent talking about possible routes he could take and he joined us for supper. He was also supposed to come camp with us the next night but he never showed.

The mosquitos were very bad this night! Felt like a swarm of thousands was circling my head the entire night. I only slept 3 hours at most after what was a tough days riding with an even tougher day to come

NK, hoeveel ure/km het jou bike gedoen daar, en het jy die tc, mapping, abs gebruik, wat dink jy daavan? Of het jy net die varkie se oor gedraai en bogger die res!..

Bike nog nie terug by my nie, maar as ek reg onthou 35 ure?

Mapping op 1 gestel en res af. Daai varkie se oor het gewerk! ::)

Ek wil dink dit was 55 ure eerder

Trust me I really wanted to but I was waiting for Hannes to get off his bike to have a chat. He is keen on doing cross country events and I wanted to tell him that the days riding reminded me of such an event. Tough day especially when you don’t expect it

DAY 10 - TWYFELFONTEIN TO BRANDBERG

We woke up for an early breakfast on day 10

I'm not really keen on eating early in the morning, but on this trip it was a lifesaver. We would not have made it through most days without that early breakfast.

This was going to be a gnarly one...... Hardy and the sweepers were not joining us and only 1 Cruiser with fuel and tools would follow the riders. We were given two 2-way radios and instruction to try and regroup during the day.

Quick air filter change, chain lube and checking a few nuts and bolts. Just in case it starts falling apart like an XR.....

Have not read the last 8 pages, so may have been mentioned. But is that a little dust in airbox?

Not a speck of dust in the airbox! The airfilter was good for another 2000km, but I fitted a clean one nonetheless
