DAY 3  Karoo back home King William's Town  326km

Today is the ride back home, tar roads to be avoided.
After a decent nights rest we once again woke up without electricity, lucky my wife switched the kettle on a short while before the electricity went off, so the water in the kettle was still warm enough for a cuppa.
We got packed and geared up and left the little town of Jansenville towards Somerset East, all back roads.
Evidence of heavy rains/storms recently in that area were visible on the roads.  You had a variety of rocky bits, sandy pieces and ruts thrown into the mix, just the way we like it.
We enjoyed the ride, it was nice and cool and overcast-ed, so no Karoo sun baking from above.

As we got closer to Somerset East it started to rain, not heavy, just enough to hinder our visibility of the road.  It became an effort to read the road surface.

From Bedford we headed straight home, we had urgent matters to attend that came up.  We arrived back home just before 13:00.

We had a ball of a time, the two 250's is more than capable for our style of riding and amazes us each and every time.  They keep putting a huge smile on our faces.  Fuel consumption is a real treat.  We did roughly a 700km round trip and could do a lot more if needed, but this was just right without putting any strain on us or the bikes.  We however need to go back, Wifey needs more parictice in the sand and she is looking forward to it.

A huge thank you go to our friendly farmer, Bie, for inviting and accepting us with open arms onto his farm, what a beautiful place and area to explore.  Not to mention that exceptionally nice meal we had at his place.

Thanks to all for taking the time reading this rr, greetings from the VIS ARENDE, we will be back.  :thumleft:

Baie mooi RR. Hou van die bikes en groot respek vir Nannie  :thumleft:
My vrou het ook lank terug bietjie adventure biking probeer. Genadiglik het sy dit gou opgegee. Was net te senutergend vir my.

Altyd lekker om tyd te spandeer met lekker mense. Hats off to Nannie!  :salut: :salut:

Kyk net hoe lekker motor julle, ek het dit al baie gese mens het nie meer as n 250cc nodig as jy meestal op grond / agter paaie ry nie.

Fantasties! en dit as man en vrou! Dit kan mos nie beter raak nie!

Louis/Nannie, ek haal weereens my hoed af vir julle, ek sal ook graag so wil aftree maar het mos 20jr rondgefok toe al my pelle trou en kinders kry en nou is dit my beurt :laughing4: hulle begin ry nou weer en smaak my ek sal nou minder ry..maar fokkol verkoop nie :deal: Julle doen dit die regte manier..my 2c

Dankie Snafu.  :thumleft:  :thumleft:

:eek7:  :lol8:

Hey Arende

Love the Steppenwolf soundtrack on your vid (took me down the vista of years!).

Also the flapping water bottle (some kind of voodoo anti-spill magic); the two big buffalo drolle, and evaporated numberplate (looks better without!)...

Thanks, I see you scrutinized the vid thoroughly.    :thumleft:  :eek7:  :lol8:

Ja the missus went with speed through a donga in the road, I was behind her and saw the numberplate flying past me, missed me by mm's.  :imaposer:
Already fixed and secured, now waiting for the next donga.  :imaposer:
