Louwtjie lured me into joining the guys the Friday evening. Had 'n lekker kuier and went back the next morning to join in the breakfast run to Roberson. There we waited for Fenderbender, Weskus and Legadama with their better halves. They came and we unfortunately had to leave. I went back at 9:30 today, but most have lalready left so I took to the road again.
Sorry, no ride report. Just the photies Did I say we had a lekker kuier Friday night. And met realy nice new people too

Coming over Du Toits Kloof pass we happened upon a bike accident. Looks like the rider went wide on a left bend, klapped the retaining walls, tumbled & almost ended up in the storm water drain. His bud was with him & on the cell but clueless.
I phoned 082911 and within half an hour the ambulance was there from Paarl.

His leather were torn open at the knee as well as jeans. The skin right around his knee was peeled off. You could see the bones & tendons. No blood. I really had to change voices with the guy to keep him still...one minute being gentle the next an uitkak but he eventually got the message...lie still!

All this while my girlfriend was recieving news of her Grandmother passing away. :(

The traffic "Officer" who rocked up was a right turd. I asked him three times to please go check if the ambulance was on its way. He just stood there. I explained that there might be some confusion between Worcester and Paarl ER and who responsibility it was. I phoned again & recieved confirmation that Paarl was on the way but when leaving, Worcester phoned me saying they could not find the accident. Just a few calls from this idiot could have sorted this out & put assets into saving someone elses life!

Aaah well.....

Home safe...thanks for a cool day/evening and a big up for those who supported me :thumleft:

As you can see from the route picks, it was not a Sunday school picnic for the Katoom ....  :mwink:

Now, day before the bash, I started to loose my clutch, probably a master cylinder seal. Point is, I had to go up and down this mountain with 270 kg of GS with limited clutch !! To put it mildly, it was a struggle !!!

Damage was mainly a sheared and bent bashplate and some new scratches to the tank and crashbars
