When I moved here a little over 2 years ago, The road was also closed along this same stretch, except it was closed further towards George as well, a Bridge had been washed away, they were already repairing it at that stage, It opened last year July I think, or was it the year before that?
Either way, not the first time this happens

Jou inkommer! :ROFLMAO:

When I moved here a little over 2 years ago,
That closure was the Swart river, just downstream from the dam. That was from the monumental rains we had on 22nd November 2021. Remember though, there was probably a good deal more urgency to repair that for the sake of access to the university from George side. It does carry a lot more traffic.

I remember that year. One irony from that period I enjoyed (with all due respect to those who suffered due to this) was that when coming into George on York Str you pass a sign warning that the area was a water scarce area. The sign was hip deep in water.

Bloukrans is still closed....its only open on the WC side......effectively it was only fixed so that the WC could give the EC a big fat toffee.
The WC has to keep that road open because it is the only access to Nature's Valley where thousands of people live and holiday.

Does the Bloukrans Pass need to be open to get to Nature's Valley? It's been years since I have been there, but it isn't how I remember it. I vaguely remember turning off to Nature's Valley before actually entering the pass, or the closure was after Nature's Valley. Like I said, remember it vaguely.

Sorry, my mistake - Nature's Valley lies at the bottom of the Grootrivier pass on the R102. That's the only access road. The Bloukrans Pass is another 9km further on the same road.

Got two done, Phantom and Homtimi pass, will be back for the rest sometime.

Well the first two days here were rather wet
Yes, the weather timing went a little south hey....literally. It does dry rather quickly with this wind and tomo is going to be hot again.
